keep learning

Keep learning.

This is a simple concept, but one that I have been thinking about a lot lately.

I want to keep learning as much as possible. I want to continue to consume content, and to level up every day. I want to go to bed knowing something I didn’t know in the morning.

Over the years, I have been skeptical of the fact that the only place in which you can truly learn is in a school, or in an academic environment. I remember being told that school was for learning, and work was for applying those skills.

But this is not a good mindset to be in. If we stop learning, we stop growing. We stop making progress, and striving to do more in our lives.

In the technology industry, not learning is not an option. If you start a startup with a closed mind, you will fail, because technology is all about change, and your job as a founder is to keep up with those changes and stay ahead of the curve.

Every day, I want to keep learning something new. I am not so concerned about building side projects right now, for those are only one way to learn.

I want to keep reading, and continue to pursue endeavors that encourage me to think about what I have read.

Being able to learn faster than others is a competitive advantage, but what matters equally as much is just learning. Just showing up. So many people don’t even do that, so even investing a little extra time in learning every day can compound over time.
